Song #6
Artist: Baschi
Song: Wenn das Gott wüsst (If God Knew)
Biography
Baschi was born as Sebastian Bürgin in the Annus Sandrakimis near Basel in the Heartlandian republic of Switzerland. Just after his seventeenth birthday he took his chances in MusicStar, the casting show that would eventually deliver the renowned microphone-kick-boxer Piero Esteriore. Being a talented little fellow, Baschi had no choice but to leave the show early on. In 2005 he then received the Prix Walo (swiss-german for Oscar) as Best Newcomer. And with 6 chart-hits and each of his three albums reaching at least Gold status, the time had soon come for this young urban artist to do some celebrate oh celebrate-ing of his own.
In the summer of 2007, Baschi’s fifth single-release “Wenn das Gott wüsst” managed the virtually impossible and most un-Swiss of achievements. By virtue of its controversial lyrics it caused an uproar amidst the Heartlandian mountainfolks. Loathed by the conservatives and cheered by the more liberal and progressive inhabitants of the Alpine region, the song ended up reaching the number 3 spot in the Swiss charts, while the album “Fürs Volk”, which contained the contested song, entered the charts at no 1.

Oh, I wish I were the only man who always can
I would love to have a fat old banger, fat dosh and get a good clip around the ears.
Chorus
I would love to be on LSD to see Elvis once again
I would love to smoke marijuana and walk through Woodstock
Oh, I wish I had love for everyone just like Rocco Siffredi
I would love to have a fat joint, fat dosh and get a good clip around the ears.
Chorus
Lord, I'm sorry, but it's just the way it is
We both know I will never join you up there in heaven
I hope you and me, we can still be friends
And don't give up hope. not everyone is as bad as me
As bad as me
Chorus
Oh, if God knew about that
Oh, if God knew about that
Oh, if God knew about that, he would have a huge crisis
He would blow up mountains and would tear up my assOh, if God knew about that.

Song #9 - THE HEARTLANDS
In 1994 little Eugenia or Евгении, as her parents lovingly called her, started studying at the State Higher Music College. As soon as she managed her degree, she decided to put her money where her mouth was and went on to win several prices at different music festivals during the late 1990’s. It wasn’t for long before she got discovered and could call herself the proud owner of a major record deal.
Her 2001-album reached gold-status overnight and sold more than 100,000 copies in the Ukraine. The little disc also conquered the hearts of their Slavic neighbours, Russia. Soon after, her career took yet another turn as Eugenia discovered the wonders of motherhood. Her daughter Nina is now almost 4 years old.
In 2005 Eugenia returned to the stage and teamed up with Andru Donalds of former Michael Cretu and Enigma fame. Their duet-version of her self-penned song “Wind of hope” was an immediate hit and even reached the top spot of the Polish charts in 2006.
I begu ya po volnam
K solntsu i svetu, sledom za vetrom
Ya lechu na kryl'jakh sna
Ya znayu, gde zhivet mechta
Ya nauchu tebja letat'
Ya vse zhelaniya ispolnyu
No tol'ko ty dolzhen pomnit'
Veter nadezhdy, teplyi i nezhnyi
I begu ya po volnam
K solntsu i svetu, sledom za vetrom
Ya lechu na kryl'jakh sna
Ya ne mogu tebe skazat'
O chem grustyat tvoi glaza
Moya sleza spaset ot boli
No esli ty budesh' pomnit'
I'll take you there, just touch my lips
I'll be the breath of your desire
My feelings, you should rely on
Chorus:
Once in the morning tender and warm
Winds of hope will wake you up
Follow my motion over the ocean
I am flying to my star
I see the sorrow in your eyes
You'll soon be in paradise!
Don't be afraid, you only have to call me
And you only have to hold me
Chorus:
Once in the morning tender and warm
Winds of hope will wake you up
Follow my motion over the oceanI am flying to my star

Song #2 - BEST WESTERNS
Song #2
Artist: Balthazar
Song: This Is A Flirt
Biography
The group got together at the end of 2004 and already at the start of 2005 they won their first award, namely the national “Kunstbende” (which translates kind of as art gang) contest with the song “Lost and Found”. In the same year they could also won the Westtalent competition, the rock competition of the province of West Flandres. Their winning streak didn’t seem to be coming to an and as in 2006 they won the public’s price of Humo’s Rock Rally, a prestigious alternative talent searching competition. After participating in the Poppunt project “Raymand and his young heroes”, their guest performance in the popular feel good tv show “Debby and Nancy” and a nomination for the Zieta Award 2006 by WTV-Focus, the group slowly started to gain respect within the Flemish rock scene.
Even though Balthazar is still quite a young group, they already succeeded in creating their own sound. They are famous for flirting with the boundaries of pop and rock music. “This is a flirt” is the first proof of this, it is their debut single and will be featured on their debut album which is expected in 2008.
Lyrics
Do you wanna love
Cause I’m in love with you
You are my Jean Harlow! My Jean Harlow!

Lyrics
I...like the things that you hate
And you...hate the things that I like
But it hurts
Honesty's your church
But sometimes
It's better to lie
I...am the vinegar and salt
And you...are the oil that dissolves
My frustration
Honesty's limitation
But sometimes
It's better to lie
I am the vinegar and salt
And you are the oil that dissolves my frustrations
Limitations
But sometimes...
I don't dare to ask why

Song # 5 SOUTHERN BELLES
Song # 5
Artist: Antonis Remos
Song:Pia Nomizis Pos Ise
Biography
Antonis Remos was born in Duesseldorf Germany in 1970. He relocated to Greece 10 years later to reside in Thessaloniki. Antonis took up many odd jobs among them was amateur singing in various clubs.
In 1995, after several years of singing experience, Antonis decided tried his luck in Athens where he appeared next to Dimitris Mitropanos, Stefanos Korkolis and Mario Tokas. This appearance of his led to a contract with Sony Music that very same year. It was very peculiar however; that even before he started recording his first album a lot of hype was created around his name and his talent.
In 1996, his self-titled album was released. In a few months the album went gold and in less than a year it was certified double platinum status. His second album release "Keros Na Pame Parakato" (It/s Time To Move On) gold and almost double platinum status. In December 1999, many preeminent and established songwriters such as Christos Nikolopoulos, Yiannis Parios, Stamatis Spanoudakis and Antonis Andrikakis penned for Antonis' third platinum release titled "Pali Ap'tin Arhi" (From The Beginning Again).
In June 2000 his new single was released which was certified gold. Antonis Remos' huge hit "Meine" (Stay) remixed. He is also the chairman of Iraklis F.C.
Lyrics
Pia Nomizis Pos Ise (Who Do You Think You Are)
Who do you think you are
how can love bear it
to stand infront of the unfair
how can 'bye' ,simply a word
to hurt so much
I dont talk for the things that seperate us
those that link us as glass
my heart in thousand pieces rip
but wait one moment
Who do you think you are
who gives you the right to deny everything tonight
and you ask me to leave from your sight, wait
you dont care nor ask what I want
Who do you think you are
who gives you the right to leave me?
and you ask me to leave from your life, shame on you
I loved you over the god
how can you make me feel sad
i dont have anything else to tell you
you are doing to me whatever you want
but no more

Song # 8 NORTHERN LITES
Song # 8
Artist:Leaves' Eyes
Song:Mourning Tree
BIography
Leaves' Eyes is a symphonic metal band with folk metal elements from Norway and Germany assembled in 2003. The band was formed by Liv Kristine Espenæs (born February 14, 1976 in Stavanger) and her husband Alexander Krull and members of his band Atrocity. The band combines atmospheric, metal and classical elements.
Their debut album, Lovelorn, was released in 2004. The second album Vinland Saga, which includes Mourning Tree, was released in May 2005 and retells the tale of the discovery of Vinland ( i.e. North America) by Leif Erikson. The EP Legend Land was released in June 2006 as a followup to Vinland Saga.
Liv Kristine thought of the band name, which is a homophone for her first name. Leaves is connected to nature, which has always been the biggest inspiration for her. Liv Kristine writes all of the lyrics for the band.
Leaves' Eyes are currently working on their first DVD which was recorded during a show in Belgium.
Lyrics
MOURNING TREE
So far away
But still so close
So many days
I've had to count
The meaning of life
Comes true when I'm with you
For in me there's a flower growing
Tell him through the winds I am here
Whisper through the breeze not to fear
Taste it by the rain what I feel when you hold me
Reach out for the winds that we share
Then you will feel I am near
Taste it by the snow, I am here where you left me
I told to the mourning tree
The long way home
Is never too far
Unless you've reached the end of life
My deepest wish
Comes true when I'm with you
For in me there's a miracle growing
Tell him through the winds I am here
Whisper through the breeze not to fear
Taste it by the rain what I feel when you hold me
Reach out for the winds that we share
Then you will feel I am near
Taste it by the snow, I am here where you left me
I told to the mourning tree
Tell him through the winds I am here
Whisper through the breeze not to fear
Taste it by the rain what I feel when you hold me
Reach out for the winds that we share
Then you will feel I am near
Taste it by the snow, I am here where you left me
I told to the mourning tree

Song # 1 NORTHERN LITES
Song # 1
Artist:Kari Rueslåtten
Song: Other People's Stories
Biography
Norwegian singer Kari Rueslåtten (born October 3, 1973) began her career in the cult doom metal band The 3rd and the Mortal with whom she recorded the EP Sorrow in 1993 and the full-length album Tears Laid in Earth in 1994. She left the band to join the project Storm and recorded Nordavind and her first solo release Demo Recordings, both being Nordic-folk-music styled.
Spindelsinn, her first official solo album came out in 1997. She was nominated as best vocal artist in the Norwegian Grammy Awards as best female artist at the Norwegian Hit-Awards. The following year the second release Mesmerised came out. A mellower album, with more personal lyrics in which she left the folk-acoustic style in favour of exploring more modern sounds.
She became tired of relying on producers to get the sounds she wanted for her songs so she decided to study production and went to London, England for a couple of years. After joining the Swedish label GMR Music Group Kari released a come back album, the experimental Pilot which contains a lot of modern sounds reminiscent of Björk.
In January 2005, her most recent album Other People's Stories was issued.
Lyrics
OTHER PEOPLE'S STORIES
Come take my hand and
we'll walk into the woods
This is my kingdom
Now this is your home
If you believe, sometimes pretend
If you fight back, in the end you shall see what it's worth
Other people's stories
They are just like mine
But for one thing
I did what they planned
In my darkest hour
I just killed a man
With a silver bullet
in the barrel of my gun
I should know better
By the age of 28
But i took the chance and
I never once looked back
If you believe, sometimes pretend
If you fight back, in the end you shall see what it's worth
Other people's stories
They are just like mine
But for one thing
I did what they planned
In my darkest hour
I just killed a man
With a silver bullet
in the barrel of my gun
And the sun climbs up over Victoria Hill
I will stop and take one last breath
Then they'll come for me
Other people's stories
They are just like mine
But for one thing
I did what they planned
In my darkest hour
I just killed a man
With a silver bullet
in the barrel of my gun
I did it for you
I did it for you
I did it for you
I did it for you
I did it for you

Song # 10 LATINO LOVERS
Song # 10
Artist: Pastora
Song: Cuanta vida
Biography
Pastora are a Spanish electronic group from Barcelona, consisting of Dolo Beltrán (vocals), Caïm Riba Pastor (guitar, synthesisers and programming) and Pauet Riba Pastor (programming and visuals.) The name of the group is devoted to the mother of Caïm and Pauet, whose surname was Pastor, and her first boyfriend used to call her ""Pastora"".
After studying visual and digital arts and multimedia, the brothers Pauet and Caïm Riba Pastor formed the group as an audio-visual project in 1996. As a duo, they released the experimental electronic albums 'Trip show audio visual tecno simfonic' (1998) and 'Cosmossoma' (2000) with the latter featuring their father Pau Riba a famous rock artist from the 1970s. However, neither album achieved commercial success.
In 2000 to strengthen the project, they added former professional actress Dolo Beltran as vocalist and songwriter and abandoned the experimental efforts in search of a more accessible sound.
The group achieved their breakthrough in 2003 with the track 'Lola' reaching the Spanish top ten. The eponymous parent album 'Pastora' achieved commercial success the following year, blending electronica, trip hop, Spanish guitars with techno beats. The album also contained the hits 'Mirona' , 'Lunes' and 'Mentira'. Both the album and its follow-up earned the trio a gold record.
After a two year gap the group returned in 2006 with the album 'La Vida Moderna.' A concept album backed by Pauet's striking and often psychedelic videos. The album earned the trio a 2006 Latin Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. The first single to be taken from the album was 'Desolado' which reached #1 on the Spanish radio playlists.
"Cuánta vida" is the first single of the eponymous album "Cuánta vida" released in 2007.
Lyrics
Cuanta vida va, cuanta vida viene
Cuanta vida va, va, va y viene
Cuanta vida hay en un deja vu,
lo vivido te vuelve y no pareces tú
Y me pueden las ganas
De esta noche no escapas
Cuantas veces, cuantas vueltas
tienes tú que dar, tú que dar
(una, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, siete, ocho)
(una, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, ¿cuántas quieres?)
Cuantas veces, cuantas vueltas
tienes tú que dar, tú que dar
Cuanta vida hay en un alfiler
cuando el hilo se mete y quiere coser
Dos partes distintas de tacto y enigmas
Cuanta vida hay en un revolcon
Cuantas vueltas y vueltas
tienes tú que dar, tú que dar
Cuantas veces, cuantas vueltas
tienes tú que dar, tú que dar
(una, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, siete, ocho)
(una, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, ¿cuántas quieres?)
Cuantas veces, cuantas vueltas
tienes tú que dar, tú que dar
Translation
How much life goes back and forth
how much life goes back, back, back and forth
how much life is there in a deja vu
what you've lived comes back again and you're not yourself
I can't help it
you won't escape tonight
How many times, how many times
you have to turn around, you have to turn around
(one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight)
(one, two, three, four, five, six, how many do you want?)
How many times, how many times
you have to turn around, you have to turn around
How much life is there in a pin
when the thread wants to saw
Two different parts made of touch and riddles
How much life is there in a shag
how many times
you have to turn around, turn around.
How many times, how many times
you have to turn around, you have to turn around
(one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight)
(one, two, three, four, five, six, how many do you want?)
How many times, how many times
you have to turn around, you have to turn around

Song # 4
Artist: Antonia Font
Song:Wa Yeah!
Biography
Antònia Font is a band from Mallorca, formed in 1997. They took the name from a University (female) friend who helped them while the band was forming.
The members of the band are Joan Miquel Oliver (composer, guitars and voice), Jaume Manresa (keyboards), Joan Roca (bass), Pau Debon (drums) and Pere Debon (voice).
They are basically a pop group, even if they don’t stick to only one style, and are well known for their rather funny and creative lyrics that mix themes such as space and astronomy with daily life stories.
They have released 5 albums so far, “Antònia Font” (1999), “A Rússia” (2001), “Alegria” (2002) and “Taxi” (2004), receiving several music awards from the Catalan music scene. Their last album is called “Batiscafo Katiuskas” released in 2006, where you can find the song “Wa Yeah”.
Lyrics ( Catalan )
Jo cant sa lluna i s'estrella,
sa jungla i es bosc animat,
es tren, es vaixell, s'avioneta
i es teu submarí aquí aparcat.
Jo cant es cafè i sa galleta,
quan dius tu podries ser meu,
què sexy, que dolça i que freda,
oh yeah!
Sa zebra que passa un semàfor
i com se desmonta un bidet,
cosmètics i Margaret Astor
ja sé com s'escriu Juliette.
Jo cant sa rosa i es cactus
i moltes més coses també,
un llapis d'Ikea, un pistatxo,
oh yeah!
Què divertit lo que escric
quan estic avorrit,
per exemple es teu cos,
es jersei destenyit,
es carrer blanc de sol,
es meu cos a damunt,
per exemple, es teu llit
de penombra i llençols
amb es termo espenyat,
per exemple dormits...
Jo cant sa lluna i s'estrella,
sa jungla i es bosc animat,
es tren, es vaixell, s'avioneta
i es teu submarí aquí aparcat.
Jo cant sa fruita vermella
i quan acabi riuré,
galàpets, nenúfars, princeses,
oh yeah!
Què divertit lo que escric
quan estic avorrit,
per exemple es teu cos,
es jersei destenyit,
es carrer blanc de sol,
es meu cos a damunt,
per exemple, es teu llit
de penombra i llençols
amb es termo espenyat,
per exemple dormits...
Què divertit lo que escric
quan estic avorrit,
per exemple es teu cos,
es jersei destenyit,
es carrer blanc de sol,
es meu cos a damunt,
per exemple, es teu llit
de penombra i llençols
amb es termo espenyat,
per exemple dormits...
Lyrics ( English )
I sing the moon and the star,
the jungle and the animated forest,
the train, the boat, the plane
and your submarine parked here.
I sing the coffee and the cookie,
when you say you could be mine,
how sexy, how sweet and how cold,
oh yeah!
The zebra passes a trafic light
and how to disassemble a bidet
cosmetics and Margaret Astor
I know now how to write Juliette.
I sing the rose and the cactus
and many other things too
a pencil from Ikea, a pistachio
oh yeah!
How funny what I write
when I’m bored,
for instance your body,
the faced jersey,
the street white of sun
my body above
for instance, your bed
of penumbra and sheets
with the thermo spoiled,
for instance sleeping...
I sing the moon and the star,
the jungle and the animated forest,
the train, the boat, the plane
and your submarine parked here.
I sing the red fruit
and when I’ll finish I’ll laugh,
toads, waterlillies, princesses,
oh yeah!
How funny what I write
when I’m bored,
for instance your body,
the faced jersey,
the street white of sun
my body above
for instance, your bed
of penumbra and sheets
with the thermo spoiled,
for instance sleeping...
How funny what I write
when I’m bored,

for instance sleeping...

Song # 11 THE OTHERS
Song #11
Performer: Karen Zoid (South Africa)
Title: Aeroplane Jane
Biography
Karen Zoid is a Pop-Rock singer, guitarist and songwriter who comes from Johannesburg, South Africa. Born in 1978, she began her career as a street performer attracting lice, flies, food leftovers and apparently some awareness in the South African musical scene, eventually becoming an award-winning national figure. So far, she has released 3 albums, with songs in English as well as her native Afrikaans. All 3 albums achieved a Gold Record status (25,000 sales). Her songs are notable for their unique lyrics, which, at least according to some sources, are "regarded as poetry and taught in universities". Her culturally-mixed band helped established her cross-culture popularity, and she even performed in the inauguration of president Mbeki. She has enjoyed little success outside South Africa as yet, but The Others are intent on changing that.
In an interview with her sponsor Karen said that "life on the streets taught me to take care of myself and see the beauty in things that other people might overlook like orange peels and the last few drops in a Coke can. But seriously, I shit you not, I really want your board folk to vote for my song, and make me and Sith Efrika proud"
Official web site:
http://www.karenzoid.co.za/
Lyrics:
We said goodbye I boarded at Gate nine
You phoned again while I stood there in the line
She gave me a hand and showed me to my seat
Alas woe was me no place for my feet
Quietly I go insane on this lonely aeroplane
Everybody looks the same on a lonely aeroplane
And the strange man next to me don't say 'scuze me when he sneeze
Someone come and save me please I think that he just cut the cheese
You're a million miles away and I miss you so today
Quietly I go insane coz I am lonely Aeroplane Jane
Aeroplane Jane
Aeroplane Jane's gone insane
As I loose sense of reality
You are still my only memory
As I loose a
As I loose a sensa of a of reality
As I loose a
As I loose a sensa of a
Coz I'm about to go insane on this lonely aeroplane
Everybody looks the same on a lonely aeroplane
And the in-flight magazines advertise washing machines
All your clothing stays pristine when you wash with a machine
You're a million miles away and I miss you so today
Quietly I go insane coz I am lonely Aeroplane Jane
Aeroplane Jane
Aeroplane Jane's gone insane
Serve the coffee and they serve the tea
Strange man don't say thank you don't say please
K-ke-ke-ke-keep goin'
Buh-bup-beep-beep-beep Boeing
You're a million miles away and I miss you so today
Quietly I go insane on this lonely aeroplane

Song # 3 THE OTHERS
Song # 3
Performer: Cindy Daniel (Canada)
Title: Sous une pluie d'étoiles
Biography
Cindy Daniel, a living breathing example of the Québécois melting pot was born in Montreal on May 6, 1986. She is (to Keith and Yair's delight) of Irish, (to Marco's delight) Italian, and (to Asif's delight) Indian descent.
Ever since childhood she has had a passion for music, thus releasing her first album at the young age of 16 .
In 2002 she was chosen to be one of the lead characters of the Québécois version of the successful musical "Don Juan". Thanks to her success on stage she gained notoriety in Quebec and indeed throughout Canada.
Following her success in "Don Juan", she made contact with producers Mario Pelchat and Lionel Lavault, who are well known throughout the French music industry.
Her single "sous une pluie d'étoîles" which was also the first track on her most recent album reached No. 1 in the Québécois charts . She's now poised to embark on a career in France and perhaps reach the status of Natasha St Pier.
Cindy enjoys long walks in the park, patting stray dogs, and feeding filthy pigeons who have no other use other than defecating on people's shoulders and car windows...sorry, we digress. Cindy would like to stress that she does not see Celine as her role model as she isn't into old fat men, mushroom dresses, or Vegas. That said, Cindy wouldn't mind having Cee Dee's bank account.
The Others thank you for your interest in her :-)

Lyrics:
Quand la mer s'évanouit
Lŕ ou le ciel s'achčve
Je cherche sur tes lčvres
Le chemin de mes nuits
Quand il ne reste plus
Que quelques ręves perdus
Tous les mots qu'on se dit
C'est penser qu'ils nous lient
Sont comme des larmes au yeux
Les instants si précieux
Qu'on voudrait les garder
Au fond de nous cachés
Puisque c'est toi que j'aime
Toi qui manque ŕ ma vie
Si un jour toi aussi
Tu sentais que tu m'aimes
Puisque c'est toi que j'aime
Toi qui manque ŕ ma vie
On pourrait tout les deux
Essayer d'ętre heureux
J'ai lu dans ton regard
Un peu de notre histoire
Mais la fin tu le sais
Personne ne la connait
Tout au fond de nos coeurs
Dans l'étoile se meurt
Si on n'y prenait garde
On pourrait par mégarde
Sous la plage des aveux
Effacer sur le sable
Les ręves qu'on fait ŕ deux
Sous une pluie d'étoiles
Puisque c'est toi que j'aime
Toi qui manque ŕ ma vie
Si un jour toi aussi
Tu sentais que tu m'aimes
Puisque c'est toi que j'aime
Toi qui manque ŕ ma vie
On pourrait tout les deux
Essayer d'ętre heureux
HoooHooo essayer d'ętre heureux
Les ręves qu'on fait ŕ deux
Sous une pluie d'étoiles
Puisque c'est toi que j'aime
Toi qui manque ŕ ma vie
Si un jour toi aussi
Tu sentais que tu m'aimes
Puisque c'est toi que j'aime
Toi qui manque ŕ ma vie
On pourrait tout les deux
Essayer d'ętre heureux
Puisque c'est toi que j'aime
Toi qui manque ŕ ma vie
Si un jour toi aussi
Tu sentais que tu m'aimes
Puisque c'est toi que j'aime
Toi qui manque ŕ ma vie
On pourrait tout les deux
Essayer d'ętre heureux
Kevin wishes to emphasize that this song is almost impossible to translate as there are so many sub levels of poetic imagery in it that just don't make much sense in English.
Also, the Canadian government deems the song as bearing subliminal quasi innuendos of Québécois independence aspirations, and they think that's not cool.
So here is the little we can release:
We were lovers, I still love you
We can still love each other
It's up to you
Let's make our dreams and love alive
Under a sky full of stars
