NorthernLites: ANNA ABREU - Ivory Tower

Anna Eira Margarida Mourão de Melo e Abreu (born February 7, 1990 in Vantaa, Finland) is a Finnish singer, who came to publicity becoming the runner-up on third edition of Finnish Idol. Her main genre is pop, but her songs also have R&B, soul and latin influences.

Anna's father lives in Portugal, whilst Anna and her mother live in Finland. Anna is fluent in Finnish, Portuguese (both her first languages), and also speaks English, Swedish and Spanish. She has recorded music in English, Portuguese and Spanish, the last two being very unusual language choices for Finnish singers.

Her debut album, Anna Abreu, released on August 22 2007, debuted on top of the Finnish album chart and ever since stayed within the top 40. The album has sold triple platinum, over 60,000 copies.

The tiny starlet, who is just over 150cm tall, also provides the voice of Rod Flanders in the Finnish dub-version of The Simpsons Movie.
